Beyond Claude Code Remote Control
Claude Code’s Remote Control lets you drive a Claude Code session on your computer from the Claude app or claude.ai, as long as that claude process keeps running and the computer stays awake. If that’s all you need, use it. wisp is for the rest: Codex, Cursor and other agents next to Claude Code, every computer you own in one list, and a cloud box that keeps working with the laptop shut.
wisp Cloud: free during the preview, sign in with GitHub · or run wisp on your own computers, MIT

What Remote Control does well
Remote Control (on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans) connects the Claude app and claude.ai/code to Claude Code running on your machine. Run claude remote-control in a project, or /rc in a session, and scan the QR code. Your files, MCP servers and settings stay on your machine, it can push permission prompts to your phone, and server mode can give each session its own git worktree.
cd ~/code/app
claude remote-control # press space for a QR code, scan it with the Claude app
Where it stops
- Claude Code only. Codex, Cursor, opencode and the other CLIs need their own remote apps, each with its own list of sessions.
- The process and the computer stay up. Close the terminal or let the laptop sleep and the session goes offline until you bring it back. On a server you keep it alive with tmux yourself.
- A server per computer, kept running by you. Each computer needs
claude remote-controlstarted in each project and kept alive; when it exits after a long network outage, you start it again. - You read the conversation. On a phone that means scrolling a transcript to find out what changed and whether the tests passed.
The same, for every agent: wisp
- Run wisp on each computer (
npx wisp-agents) and open Machines → Reach this computer from anywhere. It dials out to wisp Cloud, so there’s no port, SSH or Tailscale to set up. - Open any of them from your phone: the wisp Android app, or grid.trywisp.dev in any phone’s browser. Start a task with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, opencode, Grok, Antigravity or Copilot, in its own worktree.
- Read the report, not the transcript. Each finished task shows its headline, the diff, the test run and any question as a button. ntfy or Telegram can tell you when one needs you.
- Shut every lid. Your cloud wisp on grid.trywisp.dev runs the same agents on a server, free during the preview, and sleeps when nothing runs.

Questions
- Can I use Remote Control and wisp together?
- Yes. They don’t touch each other: Remote Control drives a claude process you started, while wisp starts its own agents in worktrees. Many people keep Remote Control for a session they’re in the middle of and use wisp to send off new tasks.
- Does wisp work on iPhone?
- Through the browser: grid.trywisp.dev lists your cloud wisp and every computer you added, each with an Open button. The native app is Android only for now.
- Do I need a Claude Max plan?
- No. wisp runs Claude Code with whatever plan it’s signed in with, and the other agents with their own accounts. wisp doesn’t resell model usage.
- What if I don’t want a relay at all?
- Use Machines over SSH, with Tailscale to reach your computers from anywhere. Nothing goes through grid.trywisp.dev then.
